The View
As some of you know, I watch The View some mornings. It's probably not the best thing for me, considering I get a little heated about the subjects. However, today really hit me! The subject of gay marriage has been a topic the past couple of days. Now that prop 8 was passed in Cali some of the ladies have a lot to say about it. Whoopi, for one, was talking about how she protested at a local Mormon church for her friends because we are the reason that prop 8 passed. Pretty sure no one in the church would go into the voting booths and force people to vote prop 8. She also said it's always good to hear all the sides of the story, so I wrote in an e-mail. Who knows if it will be read or not but I thought it was important to share our story as members and what we really stand for. I explained that we are not againsts gays, we only believe that marriage is sacred, and is sacred between a man and a woman. I also said what I told you guys, we didn't force andyone to vote for prop 8, we only asked that people would consider it and guess what the rest of California agreed with us. They believe as we do, that marriage should be between a man and a woman. What do you guys think?

i hate when other people blame us for being the reason for something just cos we dont believe it. we can share our opinions but we dont force people to do anything! whoopi can go shove it where the sun dont shine! stupid retard! ugh!
way to go for standing up for what we believe! people are so ignorant and hateful toward us, but they don't even understand what we're actually about. And it is a good point that although mormons were actively promoting prop 8, there are only about 770,000 mormons in california and prop 8 passed with 5,136,308 votes in favor. that means 4,366,308 citizens of california of other faiths also voted in favor of prop 8. does anyone accusing it of being "all our fault" prop 8 passed, actually look at the numbers? obviously not. and hey if we could claim that it was us that caused it to pass, well i'd be proud of that. we did a good thing.
I'm so glad I didn't watch the View that day. I would have been in a bad mood the rest of the day! I think it's totally bogus that everyone is blaming the church for Prop 8 passing. What if the Catholic church told all their members to vote for it? I don't think it would be as big a deal as it is now....people just don't like our church which is a weird phenomenon to me.
I no longer watch the view because of this episode. I agree 100% and I'm proud of you. Good job.
