I'll be the first to admit that flying with young children is really super difficult. You end up packing WAY more than you need and the kids have more melt down than ever expected. The flights weren't fun, to say the least, but we survived.
This was my third trip out to visit my mom and step-dad in Florida. I took Mike with me once before, when we were dating, and always made plans to go back after we were married. Well, it only took us 6 years to make the trip back. Haha.
Our first stop was Butterfly World. It's a favorite of mine. Worth every penny to experience the beauty and peace that only a few thousand butterflies can create. I'm not exaggerating when I say they are everywhere. They fly all around you. It's breathtaking. Surprisingly, it scared Remee. She enjoyed the birds more than the butterflies, but whatever.
After, we took a trip to Del Ray Beach. This was Jade's first time at the beach and boy did she enjoy herself! That girl has no fear! If we weren't watching her, she'd be in the water within seconds. She giggled every time a wave hit her. Remee and I walked up and down the shore and collected shells, and I have to say, what a special event that was for me. She held my hand and was thrilled when we found a shell.
Our last big trip was out to see the gators in the Everglades. Call me crazy, but I really like Alligators. Yes, they freak me out, but I don't know what it is about them...they fascinate me! Go learn about gators, they are sure to amaze you!
We had a wonderful time in Florida. Not just because it was nice to get away from the cold weather in Utah, but to spend some time with family. We can wait to go back...one of these days.
