Summertime, and the livin's easy...

The girls are fast asleep in their beds for nap, and that means have a little time to sit down and blog...finally.  We have already had a very eventful summer.  I can tell from my girls' happy faces that they are enjoying all the nice weather and the many activities we've been doing.  Remee only gets naps now when I'm in need of a break, or me time as I like to call it.  She does pretty well without them too.  I figured she'd be a fussy girl, but as long as I have something to entertain her with she's a happy camper.  So, I let her paint and swim in the kiddie pool in the yard.  When Jade wakes up from her naps we go feed the ducks and go on walks.  Jade loves sitting in the stroller and really enjoys watching Remee run around like a crazy person.  This past Monday we went up to Park City, which I would imagine any child wishing to go to.  I mean what kid wouldn't want to go to a 'city of parks'?  We ate breakfast at the best place for morning grub, The Eating Establishment.  Remee told the waitress she wanted toast and I'll tell ya, she at all 4 pieces!  Then we went over to the Alpine Coaster.  Mike said the ride up Remee loved and continued to tell Daddy that it was a lot of fun.  The ride down...she said was too fast.  We have now discovered that Remee really likes rides!  Good thing to know for our next trip to D-land!  Jade is a sweet little thing.  She's now crawling!  She's all over the place, and due to her moving we hang out downstairs a lot, where it's cooler and there aren't any stairs to fall down!  She weighs 13lbs and is 25 inches tall.  She is the happiest little girl and we love making her smile.  It seriously melts your heart.  She loves the water and loves playing with her sister.  Remee has been great with Jade.  She talks to her and plays games with her.  She'll sing her songs and ask to help feed her a bottle.  I feel so blessed!
I have been working on a few house projects, so stay tuned for some fun pictures of the finished product!

Baby Boulton

I can not begin to express how much I am blessed!  My heart grew once again last week when this little guy was born.  He is so precious!  Babies make it reality to just how much our Heavenly Father loves us.  He gifts us with these adorable little people to care for and teach.  He trusts us so much!  He loves us so much!  Little baby Reed is blessed with some of the coolest parents around.  He'll be a heart breaker, this one!

Mother's Day

I feel so overwhelmed today.  I remember sitting in church on Mother's Day 4 years ago and crying, wishing for nothing more than a screaming, pooping, baby! My heart ached to be a mother.  Today, 4 years later, I sat in church filled with joy for the beautiful babies I have in my life.  I watched Remee sit quietly, folding her arms and closing her eyes, while the prayers where said, and my heart melted.  I peeked in Jade's car seat to see a silent sleeping angel, and again, my heart melted.  I feel so much gratitude for these children Heavenly Father has blessed me with.  They teach me everyday to have patience.  They have taught me that love really can grow and grow!  So, today the tears I have are not from sadness because I want a baby, but for joy because I have my babies.
I am overwhelmed with love for my own mothers today!  I have three amazing mothers.  My mom, Leesa, who has taught me everything from being a patient, loving person, to being a great housekeeper and cook.  I love you so very much marmy!  My mom, Dovey, who has taught me to be optimistic in times of trial.  I feel so blessed my daddy found such a wonderful woman!  My mom, Sheri, who raised an amazing man to stand by my side!  You have taught me to find joy in my family and to endure!  I am blessed to have a wonderful mother-in-law.
My heart is full when I think about all the mothers I know who have taught me, by example, to love my children unconditionally.  I watch you all and take mental notes on how I can be more like you!
I am blessed to be a mother and to have wonderful mothers in my life! Happy Mother's Day!

An Afternoon in the Garden

On Monday we spent the afternoon at Thanksgiving Point's Tulip Festival.  The flowers were so beautiful and the weather was nice and hot(80 degrees).  Remee was really loving being outside.  Maybe not so much in her long sleeve shirt(we went shopping later that day to buy her some much needed short sleeves).  We kept Jade covered most of the time, I mean the girl glows she's so pasty.  I was so glad we were able to go and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us, at least when there are master landscapers!

Missing Home

It's days like these that make me miss home.  The smell of wet asphalt and drips of rain on my nose.  The birds quiet within the nests.  I remember bundling up before playing out side.  It seemed to be more quiet and peaceful.  The grass was squishy and the air was so fresh.  Every breath was rejuvenating.  I would walk home from school deep in thought.  Then, returning home I would cozy up on the couch and watch the rain fall.  The trees perking up from a yummy fresh gulp of water.  Nothing beats it.  I miss you Seattle...I miss you everyday!
