New Year Resolutions.

Are you one of those people who write new year resolutions? Well, I am! I like the thought of starting fresh and new every year of what I'd like to accomplish. This years goals were easy for me to write down. So here's the list for your reading pleasure...

  • Put $100.00 a month away in a savings account for Remee's future expenses. I'm guessing it will go toward school or a wedding, and dang it I better start saving up now cause who knows how much that could cost me in 20 years?
  • Some sort of exercise everyday for 20 minutes. My muscles have literally deteriorated. I'm just made of mush and bones.
  • Cook every recipe in my cookbooks so I can clear them out and get new ones. That means I'll be having giveaways for cookbooks. And let me just say...I only buy the good ones!
  • Make baby #2!
  • Grow my hair out so I can donate it to locks of love. If you know me, you know this is an impossible task. I have tried time after time to grow out my hair and it just never happens. So...I have decided to not do it for me but for someone else in need and I'm sure that will give me the dedication to do it. Oh yeah... and I do realise this is more like a 5 year goal.

So there you have it. Good Luck to me right?

Christmas was Awesome!!!

Christmas Day we spend with Mike's family every year. We have breakfast and play games and then go out and play in the snow. It was Remee's first time out in the snow and I was so excited to see how she would react. She of course wasn't fazed. She is so easy going. Mike made her a little snowman that she sat by and repeatedly knocked it over. I think she had fun. I had a blast because I wasn't cold. I HATE being cold and luckily it was sunny and warm out! I'm serious... we didn't even need coat. I attribute that to all the walking we did though. I was burning up a sweat! By the end of our adventure, Remee fell asleep. Raven and Delphi had fun too. They picked on each other and were so dang cute sitting by the door while we ate breakfast. How cute are those little faces?

Remee loves Elmo!

As you can tell from the video, Remee has a little crush on Elmo. Everytime he comes on the TV she talks to him and smiles. It's just hilarious.

My Dad-Dad-Daddy-O is 60

So, a few weeks ago my Dad truned 60 and I threw him a little surprise birthday bash! It was so fun to see how excited and thrilled my dad was to see some of his buddies, and it was also fun planning it and keeping it a secret!
I made little pins for everyone to wear with the big 60 on them.
I made these cute little sleeves to go around the Root Beer. The picture on the sleeve is a pic of my Dad way back when he was a young buck and a sportscaster for KTLA.
The yummy spread of delectables!
Me and my Pops! I love you Dad, and Happy 60th!

Tradition...Tradition....Tradition!

You are supposed to read the title the way it's sung in Fiddler on the Roof. Anyway, the holidays always make me think of special traditions, and now that Mike and I have added a new addition to the family this year, it really has me thinking about what traditions I want to carry in our home. Of course there's the usual, open one present on Christmas Eve (which is usually pj's), read the Christmas story from the Bible, and having ham for dinner. But what are some other unique traditions that you carry in you family or home? Please share!!!

Remee at 6 months

Remee had her 6 months check yesterday and she is doing great. Now that she's on solids, she's packing on the pounds and looking a little more plump...as you can see. Still, she's our little string bean! She's 13.9 pounds and 25'' long.
She did pretty good with her shots. Well, actually she started crying even before she got them because she got made that her legs were being held down. What a little stinker. She cried pretty much the rest of the day. Poor thing!!! Is it mean that I have to document this hysteria? I simply think she'll laugh about it years down the road.
So, these are some fun little things about Remee...
  • She's rolly polly. Seriously she is a non stop mover. One minute she's here, the next she's way over there!
  • She loves her food and makes mmm noises when she's eating!
  • She pants like a dog when she gets excited, and I'm pretty sure she didn't pick this up from Raven, because Ray Ray doesn't do that at all!
  • She says Ba ba but it doesn't mean Ba ba. It has no association with a bottle whatsoever.
  • She giggles like a giddy school girl when you fake sneeze. Who knew that could be so funny!
  • She is seriously attached to any fuzzy blanky we have. If I try and give her something else to sleep with she'll cry til you give her a fuzzy one.
  • She knows her name.
  • She loves to be tickled.

I can't tell you enough how much we love her.

Diaper Rash

Remee was getting a little diaper rash so I took off her diaper to let her air out before I smeared her hiney with butt cream and wrapped her in a new diaper. First thing she did when I flipped her over... shivered and peed. I just laughed.

Our Family Photos

While my sister was in town, she took some family picture for us. Here are just a few that are my favorites. It was hard just picking a few! Thanks Courtney, we love them all. Want to check out some other photos by my sis? Check out her blog here!

America thanks you!

Mike came home last night from a business trip and shared this little story with me. On his Delta flight home from Texas there were 4 Soldiers who were coming home to Utah to see their families. All 4 of these Soldiers were sitting near the back of the plan. 3 people in first class gave up their seats for these Soldiers so that they could sit more comfortably. As for the last Soldier who did not get a first class seat? Well, I hope he/she still knows that we are thankful for what they do! Also, props to those people who gave up their seats. It made me think... would I do the same thing? I sure hope I would!

Will the real Kate Gosslin please stand up?

Remember the kate that was a homemaker, who wanted nothing more than to see her kids happy with the simpler things in life. Who made organic food for her kids, didn't care about trends, and spent her money wisely? Well, now I'm just confused...

This show makes me sick...

When I first saw the commercials for this show I thought they had to be kidding, but no! They are not fooling around here. They are actually reconstructing these beautiful women to what they think their fiance's want them to look like. Don't they get it? Pretty sure the person their fiance fell in love with is the person they are without getting all the surgery to make them look like completely different people. Also... sorry if this offends anyone but... if you want to get liposuction because you are overweight, try working out first. These girls are all lazy and want immediate results. Life doesn't work that way.

My Christmas Wish List

Just a few of the things I'm thinking about for Christmas. I'm in love with them all!
This might be my favorite invention this year. It's a little pom pom speaker for your ipod. You can take this wherever you go and everyone can enjoy the music.
I am in desperate need of some new PJ's, and these take the cake! I love the Geo Red pattern.

I love this invention. Such an easy way to make baby food. A little more on the pricey side but I think it would pay for itself through use.

This necklace is beautiful. I love the texture and the colors!

I already own a pair of these awesome Ugg Boots, but in another color. Now I want black too!

This girl cracks me up!

This girl is serious about eating! It wasn't until later, when I watched the video again that the music on the TV in the background went so perfectly! Priceless!

Cal-A-Vie

Mike and I were so privileged to go to this day spa for the second year with Sam Brocato and his wife Holly. Mike and Sam worked the whole time while Holly and I got pampered. We were lucky to have Mike's mom, Sheri, watch Remee for us. I was in much need for some R&R but I missed my little Booga (that's what I call Remee, don't know why).
This is the Chapel and Reception building they have on the Resort. It cost $250,000 to have your wedding up here and from what I learned, it was a place that Brad Pitt and Jennifer A. were thinking about back when they got married.
Those little buildings down there are where your rooms are and all the spa essentials are! This place is really in the middle of nowhere. It's so pretty and quiet.

This is the 'prison garb' as we called it. No need to pack anything but undies for this trip. You wear sweat and robes all day. Behind me is a windmill that they had brought in from Italy. No joke! They put the whole thing on a boat and plopped it in right there!
We had so much fun! And besides being at a spa, we also celebrated our 3 year anniversary while we were here. I say not bad for an anniversary get away!

Remee's first feeding

She ate every last drop of her rice cereal yesterday! She loves food. We might have a little chunk on our hands soon! This is how we clean up in our house after eating. Ha ha... I hope you all know this is a joke. We don't really do this. Although I will say whether we like it or not, Raven is always licking this girl's face, and Remee doesn't seem to mind. She loves Raven!

I'm in LOVE!!!

I'm in the mood now where I want to redo everything. My wardrobe, house decor, you name it! So here are a few things that are on my wish list... I guess you could say.
This whole living room is gorge! I love the Chevron rug and the pop of green and pink!
Such a cute saying and who doesn't like a happy yellow?

I saw this skirt on the today show on some model and I fell in love. I love the graphic pattern and you could wear this with pretty much whatever colored shirt you wanted!
Ok we all know I'm obsessed with Anthro and this is just my dream sweater! Too bad it's $128.00. I'll just have to wait a couple of months til it goes on sale!

If I could have a couch it would be this one! I love the color, the texture, and the tufted cushions. Again... too bad it's $2,100.00.

Happy Birthday to me!

I got a fun surprise for my birthday. Mike had bought me cruiser bike. I have always wanted one and this year was my lucky year I guess. Isn't she a beauty? Too bad it's raining! Cause I can hardly wait to take her on a ride! That, and next year I can put a little seat on it for Remee and we can cruise together!

Remee's Halloween Costume

Why buy a costume for this little one when she's not going trick or treating and she can't eat candy? I couldn't help myself though. So I found a few things here at the house to make a costume on the cheap. What is she? An 80's aerobic instructor of course.

Disneyland 2010

Our annual Disneyland trip came and went. We had so much fun getting in our D-land fix! We were able to see some family, eat lots of food, and go all crazy on the rides! The weather wasn't on our side this year though. It wasn't too bad the first day but the second rained cats and dogs. Mike and I bought an umbrella and trucked through! Just goes to show how fun D-land can be if you're sopping wet and you still have a blast!
My mom and step-dad's Autopia car broke down. You've got to love those facial expressions!
Saw Captain EO. It was the first experience of our trip and it was awesome! MJ was a genius!

I turned into an action figure. My name? Undecided! I couldn't think of one!
All in all, I had fun and can't wait to go next year.

Seeing the Sights

Well, I was finally able to travel with Mike on one of his trips for work. It was fun just being with him, and a bonus was seeing all the sights along the way. Remee and I arrived in DC on Sunday night and spend all day Monday resting. It's big job traveling with a baby by yourself. Tuesday we got up early and travelled to the the city! Our first stop was the Holocaust Museum. There aren't any pics cause non were allowed, and I follow the rules. Then we just walked around seeing all the monuments, memorials, and statues along the way to the Natural History Museum. All the while we were hoping to run into Shia Lebouf, who was in town filming for Transformers 3. Unfortunately there were no start sightings, but we saw a tons of film equipment all over the place.
Here's America's boner, as my step-dad would say.
Hello Mr. Lincoln!
The Lincoln Memorial from far away.
The girls at Lincoln Memorial. You can see the Capitol Building way in the back!
We waved to President Obama. And yes, you are seeing right. This pic was taken at around 2:00 pm, and the sprinklers are on. Obama must not know about water conservation.
Finally, we stopped by the Air and Space Museum to pay a visit to my mom and step-dad's profession. Here I am with a flight attendant. Why are all of the statues really short? I swear I was like a foot taller than all of them, boy and girl.

We arrived safely to New York City, early Wednesday morning. This is the view from the hotel we stayed at in Soho. It was awesome. I was finally in New York.
Gary(a friends and co-worker of Mike's) took us around the city on a Gary's Night Tour. We took the Subway everywhere. Saw Central Park, Trump Tower, Lincoln Center, Time Square, Rockefeller, NBC studios, and a ton more. New York City is totally a different place a night.
Remee was fascinated by all of the lights. This pic was taken at the Rockefeller flags. She was on cloud 9.
Time Square! This is where it all happens. All the Broadway shows, New Years Eve celebrations, Good Morning America, and so much more. It was kinda surreal to stand there and think, 'I've seen this before on TV'.
We went to the top of the 30 Rockefeller Building. This is the Empire State Building with the bright lights.
There she is, "lady liberty" herself. So cool to be that close to her! To think that's what all the immigrants were welcomed by many years ago. What a cool way to say, "Welcome to America!"

I loved seeing "lady liberty". I thought she was going to be way bigger than she was. One of my favorite things to see.
This was the view of the city from the fairy. On the left is where the trade center buildings should be. Amazing to me that a few buildings could be that beautiful.
So the trip is over. I get one day to recoup and then we are off to Disneyland! Pretty sure October is the best month ever. So the story ends with sore feet, tons of laundry to do, and jet lag. See you next week!
